Mantras Foundation Quiz on Environment succeeds in instilling awareness

Aaj Talkss News Desk, Kolkata: The much-anticipated Environmental Champion Quiz 2024, organized jointly by Mantras Foundation, the National Library of India under the Ministry of Culture, and iLEAD, successfully concluded on August 10, 2024, at the National Library, Kolkata. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from over 250 schools, bringing together more than 50,000 young minds to engage in a fun and educational competition focused on environmental conservation.

The quiz, which ran from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, covered a wide range of topics related to environmental issues, climate change, and sustainable practices aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The competition was designed to raise awareness and inspire action among students and the wider community.

The event culminated in a thrilling final round, where the top three schools emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional knowledge and commitment to environmental stewardship. In addition to the competitive rounds, attendees had the opportunity to interact with environmental experts and learn more about ongoing initiatives to protect our planet.

Gupta, President NCLT Bar Association, Subrata Hazra, DGM, SBI, CA Rishi Khator, Past President, ACAE, Nawal Kishore Arora, Regional Director of National Skils and Entrepreneurship Development, Bhaskar Dutt, Quiz Master, Kumar Saheb, HOD, National Library, Kanak Kr Dugar , VDG lions club, Indranil Banerjee, Vice president, Calcutta manangement Association and Meenakshi Roy, Principal Gun Shell School were present as guests of honour at the do.

Khemka, Chairman of Mantras Foundation. “The enthusiasm and dedication shown by the students were truly inspiring. This event has not only increased awareness but has also empowered these young champions to take concrete actions toward a more sustainable future.”

Ms. Pragya Chopra, Executive Director, iLEAD, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “The Environmental Champion Quiz 2024 has been a remarkable initiative, bringing together thousands of young minds to engage in meaningful discussions on environmental conservation. Mr. Vibhor Tandon, President of Mantras Foundation, and Mrs. Pragya Jhunjhunwala, the program coordinator, shared their satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the event sensitized more than 50,000 students. They emphasized the importance of making this a recurring awareness initiative, with plans to engage more schools in the future.

Apeejay park Street, Howrah Modern School and The Newtown school bagged First, second and third prizes respectively.
