Tapash Roy, ,Kolkata, 11th March, 2025: The CII West Bengal Annual Day Meeting 2025, held in Kolkata, brought together key government officials, business leaders, and international diplomats to discuss the state’s vision for sustainable economic growth. With the theme “Maximizing Purpose, Optimizing Profit: West Bengal’s Vision for Sustainable Growth,” the event highlighted the state’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in empowering women and advancing green initiatives.
In a pivotal address, Dr. Shashi Panja, the state’s Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Women and Child Development, emphasized West Bengal’s leadership in promoting women-led MSMEs and its comprehensive approach to sustainability through policies like the New and Renewable Energy Manufacturing Promotion Policy. She also spotlighted the state’s green transportation initiatives, such as electric ferries and electric vehicle infrastructure, as part of its broader commitment to environmental responsibility

The conference also featured remarks from Dr. Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner, who discussed potential collaboration between West Bengal and the UK in sectors like energy and education. Highlighting the state’s impressive economic performance, speakers underscored West Bengal’s growing role as a key player in India’s industrial and sustainable future. The event concluded with the election of new leadership for the CII West Bengal State Council for 2025-26.
