Tapash Roy, Kolkata, March 22, 2025: In a harmonious union of innovation and opportunity, Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT), a prestigious institution under the JIS Group of Colleges, etched a defining moment in its journey towards technological supremacy and global career avenues with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ground Up Technology Ltd., a pioneering technology firm based in Manchester. This landmark agreement was formalized during GMIT’s inaugural International Conference, Smart Technology for Emerging Problems (STEP 2K25), held at the institute’s campus, with the MoU signing ceremony attended by distinguished figures, including Mr. Andre Bourlat, Head of Data Factory at Club Med France; Mr. Bodhisattva Banerjee, Vice Chairman of GMIT; Dr. Narendranath Jana, Principal of GMIT; and senior faculty members.
A bridge was built across continents as Mr. Mark Dale, CEO & Founder of Ground Up Technology Ltd., visited India to spearhead the establishment of a cutting-edge AI Center of Excellence in Kolkata, in partnership with Inceptial, a Kolkata-based IT company. In his address, Mr. Mark Dale remarked, “We are providing live product development opportunities for GMIT students, enabling them to showcase their innovations as part of their final year projects. Additionally, I am eager to have GMIT students join our Centre of Excellence in Sector V, Kolkata. We anticipate that our delivery centre in Kolkata will catalyse a surge of job opportunities in the AI domain.”
As the fabric of collaboration unfolded, Mr. Bodhisattva Banerjee, Vice Chairman of GMIT, added, “This is a momentous occasion, as the MoU opens a gateway for our students to undertake live project development, as outlined by Mr. Mark Dale of Ground Up Technology.
