ATNN, Kolkata, April 11, 2025: Like the spark that ignites a quiet storm, a new chapter in electric mobility unfolded at the heart of Kolkata. The Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex (SURTECH), a distinguished institution under the JIS Group, proudly hosted its inaugural large-scale Industry-Academia Meet, “E-Mobility Synergy 2025,” at its Dum Dum campus. The event was conducted under the banner of the JIS-Research and Advancement Centre for Electric-Mobility (JIS-RACE) — a strategic initiative designed to accelerate research, innovation, and skill development in Electric Vehicles (EVs) and emerging technologies.
The meet drew over 30 distinguished participants, including eminent scientists, policymakers, and corporate leaders from across the nation. Noteworthy attendees included Dr. Suresh Babu, Scientist E, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India; Dr. Arghya Sardar, Scientist F & Head, TFAR, TIFAC; along with senior representatives from the U.S.-India Business Council, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), and key stakeholders from India’s burgeoning EV industry.
“E-Mobility Synergy 2025” served as a dynamic platform for collaborative dialogue on the future of electric transportation in India. Conversations revolved around innovation-led strategies, enabling policies, industry-academia collaboration models, and the pivotal role of JIS-RACE as a driving force in EV research, product development, and talent cultivation. The event further emphasized SURTECH’s aspiration to become a national leader in cutting-edge technological education aligned with visionary initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat and Green Mobility.
