Bridging Minds: Loreto and Rani Birla Girls’ Colleges Unite for a Smarter Future

ATNN, Kolkata: In a significant move to enhance academic collaboration and foster interdisciplinary learning, Loreto College and Rani Birla Girls’ College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 28. The agreement lays the foundation for a broad-based partnership, focusing on faculty and student exchange programs, as well as the joint organization of workshops and seminars.

The MoU includes provisions for regular faculty exchanges, encouraging the sharing of diverse teaching approaches and academic insights. Students from both institutions will benefit from access to classes, collaborative projects, and cultural exchanges, promoting a more holistic educational experience. A series of co-hosted workshops and seminars across various disciplines are also planned to build contemporary and cross-disciplinary skillsets.

The signing ceremony took place at Loreto College and was attended by key academic figures. Sr. A. Nirmala, Teacher-in-Charge of Loreto College, and Dr. Srabanti Bhattacharya, Principal of Rani Birla Girls’ College, led the proceedings. Also present were IQAC Coordinators Dr. Amrita Dasgupta (Loreto College) and Dr. Sushmita Das (Rani Birla Girls’ College), along with Heads of the Geography Departments, Dr. Sushma Sahai and Dr. Kamalika Paul, who were instrumental in facilitating the partnership.

As per the MoU, students will have opportunities for semester-long exchanges, research collaborations, and skill development initiatives. Faculty members from both colleges will participate in guest lectures and joint workshops, promoting professional growth and interdisciplinary dialogue.

This partnership marks a promising step toward academic enrichment and shared growth between the two esteemed Kolkata institutions.
