ATNN,Kolkata, June 26, 2025 :The stage is set for HOPECON’25, as the official curtain raiser for India’s most expansive and inclusive medical conference took place today at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata. This prelude to the main event, themed “The Complete Conference for Comprehensive Care,” marks the beginning of a much-anticipated three-day gathering scheduled from June 27 to 29.

Spearheaded by the Kolkata Nurture Foundation in partnership with UNI Edu Health and Valmiki Healthcare, the launch event drew an enthusiastic crowd of healthcare professionals, educators, and media representatives. A notable moment of the gathering was the announcement of a transformative educational initiative — a new medical training programme modeled on internationally reputed standards. Drawing inspiration from a prestigious UK institution, this project seeks to bring structured, globally aligned content to Indian medical education, aiming to uplift both quality and access.

The upcoming conference is guided by a distinguished leadership team that includes Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee as Organising President, Dr. Payodhi Dhar — Founder and President of both the Foundation and HOPECON — alongside Dr. Apurba Kumar Mukherjee, Dr. Pradip Kumar Mitra, and Dr. Gautam Saha. Scientific content is being steered by Dr. Arup Kumar Kundu and Dr. Rana Bhattacharjee, with academic direction under Dr. Raja Dhar. Contributions from Dr. Anjan Adhikari, Dr. Upal Sengupta, and Dr. Soumitra Ghosh further strengthen the intellectual framework of the conference.

Bringing together thought leaders from across specialties, HOPECON’25 reflects a rare convergence of minds. Renowned experts such as Dr. M.K. Das (Cardiology), Dr. T.K. Dolai (Hematology), and Dr. Swarnabindu Banerjee (Medical Oncology) are among the many who have lent their support to this initiative, driven by a shared vision of advancing universal healthcare. The overall coordination of the program lies with Dr. Arunansu Talukdar and Dr. Tirthankar Dasgupta, who bring expertise in geriatrics and psychiatry, respectively.

This year’s edition promises to be a landmark event in academic medicine, covering more than 37 medical and allied health disciplines. Topics will span from core clinical areas like cardiology, nephrology, paediatrics, geriatrics, and surgery, to progressive subjects including artificial intelligence in healthcare, biomedical innovation, public health policy, clinical trials, and even medical administration. Discussions will extend beyond clinical knowledge to social, legal, and economic dimensions of healthcare — including medical entrepreneurship, climate change’s impact on health, insurance, health journalism, professional burnout, and women’s health empowerment.

HOPECON’25 aims to foster an environment of active learning and engagement through workshops, panel discussions, debates, and competitions, providing attendees with up-to-date insights and practical skills. With over 800 speakers and more than 350 topics scheduled, the event is poised to be a high-impact convergence of learning, collaboration, and vision.

Dr. Payodhi Dhar, the visionary behind this initiative, emphasized HOPECON’s purpose: “This is not just a conference; it’s a movement towards a new paradigm in healthcare — one that is inclusive, academically robust, and globally aligned. It’s about lifting the entire ecosystem, from education to patient care.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee added, “In all my decades as a clinician and teacher, I have seldom seen such a truly comprehensive platform. HOPECON is about integration — not just of specialties, but of science, empathy, and innovation. It represents the future of healthcare.”

With a strong foundation now laid, HOPECON’25 is set to be a transformative force in India’s medical journey — uniting healthcare providers, educators, administrators, and policymakers in a shared commitment to better care for all.
