Adyapeath upholds Annada Thakur’s, Vision with Aid Drive for 8000

Tapash Roy,Dakshineswar:On the occasion of the 59th Foundation Day of Adyapeath Temple and the 136th birth anniversary and 106th Siddhotsav of its founder Srimat Annada Thakur, a large-scale humanitarian programme was organised at Dakshineswar on January 17, reaffirming the institution’s timeless commitment to service to humanity. Guided by the ideals of Annada Thakur, the globally renowned Dakshineswar Ramakrishna Sangha Adyapeath distributed blankets to 3,000 underprivileged individuals and new clothes to 5,000 destitute children, bringing warmth and dignity to nearly 8,000 lives. Among Adyapeath’s year-round welfare initiatives, this annual cloth distribution programme remains one of its most significant and widely cherished endeavours. The occasion was marked by a seminar titled “Fraternity and Harmony of All Religions,” inaugurated by the temple’s Secretary and Trustee Brahmachari Mural Bhai, in the presence of West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, Minister Becharam Manna, MLA Tapas Chatterjee, former Governor Shyamal Kumar Sen, NKDA Chairman Shovan Chatterjee, Kamarhati Municipality Chairman Gopal Saha, Professor Baishakhi Banerjee, Emami Foundation MD Sushil Kumar Goenka, Councillor Mithu Bose, Rahima Bibi Mondal and several other distinguished personalities. The temple परिसर witnessed an exceptionally large gathering of devotees and visitors throughout the day. Speakers reflected on Annada Thakur’s vision of social welfare, the divine inspiration of Sri Ramakrishna behind the establishment of Adyapeath, and Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of serving humanity as service to God, emphasising that Adyapeath occupies a unique place in fostering interfaith harmony. All present unanimously observed that situated in the sacred land of Dakshineswar, enriched by the memories of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, Adyapeath Temple has consistently upheld the banner of compassion, unity and universal brotherhood.
