Genesis Hospital License Intact, Services Uninterrupted

:ATNN:Genesis Hospital Kasba, Kolkata, represented by its Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Purnendu Roy, addressed the press on 22 December 2025 at The Press Club, Kolkata, to clarify misinformation regarding the hospital’s license. Reports claiming that the license of Genesis Hospital Kasba has been cancelled are completely false, as the license has never been cancelled and remains valid to date. The matter pertains to a complaint filed by Mr. Pronab Ghosh before the Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission seeking compensation on allegations of negligence, pursuant to which an order dated 12 December 2024 was passed. The said order was challenged before the Hon’ble High Court, which on 16 December 2024 granted a stay on its operation. A subsequent order dated 10 November 2025, issued following directions of the Director of Health Services regarding possible cancellation of license in case of non-payment of compensation, was also challenged before the Hon’ble High Court. The Hon’ble Court restrained the State respondents from giving any effect or further effect to the impugned order dated 12 December 2024 until the next date of hearing. Accordingly, there has been no cancellation of the hospital’s license. Genesis Hospital Kasba continues to operate normally, providing uninterrupted medical care, treatments, procedures and surgeries round the clock throughout the year. The hospital urges the public and media not to pay heed to fake news, rumors or speculation. Founded on 14 February 2004 by Dr. Purnendu Roy, Genesis Hospital Kasba Kolkata is a 100-bed healthcare institution with four operation theatres, NICU, ICU, pharmacy, pathology services, and patient-friendly facilities, having successfully conducted over 60,000 surgeries while delivering affordable healthcare in keeping with its motto, “Your Safety, Our Priority.”
