Tapash Roy, Kolkata, May 12, 2026: Blending cutting-edge technology with precision-driven healthcare, Manipal Hospitals East hosted the much-awaited “Robotic Summit 2026”, showcasing how robotic-assisted surgeries are transforming modern medicine across Eastern India.
Held on the occasion of National Technology Day, the summit brought together leading robotic surgeons, healthcare experts, technologists, and patients who have successfully undergone robotic procedures. The event highlighted the growing impact of minimally invasive robotic surgeries in cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, and gastrointestinal care.
The summit was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests including Dr. Sushmita Mitra, Dr. Ayanabh Debgupta, Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Dr. Sourav Datta and Dr. Vikash Kapoor among other senior clinicians.
Recognised as East India’s largest robotic surgical network, Manipal Hospitals East has already performed over 3000 robotic surgeries with the support of 30+ expert robotic surgeons and five advanced robotic systems across its Kolkata hospitals. Doctors at the summit explained how robotic-assisted procedures are enabling greater precision, smaller incisions, reduced pain, quicker recovery, and improved surgical outcomes for patients.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of dedicated “Robotic Doctor Badges” honouring robotic surgery specialists across multiple disciplines. The hospital group also announced a special Robotic Workshop in June 2026 aimed at spreading awareness about the future of AI-enabled and robotic-assisted healthcare.
Speaking at the summit, experts emphasised that the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics is rapidly redefining the future of patient-centric healthcare in India, making advanced treatment safer, smarter, and more accessible than ever before.
