JIS SAMMAN 2026 Honours Excellence that Shapes the Nation

Aajtalkss,Kolkata¹, February 1, 2026: JIS Group hosted its flagship annual awards ceremony, JIS SAMMAN 2026, celebrating outstanding excellence and transformative contributions across academics, culture, sports and public service. The prestigious event honoured meritorious students, dedicated educators, committed employees of the JIS Group and eminent personalities whose visionary work has created a lasting impact on society and nation-building. The JIS Maha Samman 2026 was conferred on Dr Binoy Kumar Das, Director General, DRDO, for his decisive role in strengthening India’s defence preparedness through indigenous systems such as Akashteer, Akash Missiles and BrahMos, marking a significant milestone in technological self-reliance. The Maha Samman was also awarded to Sardar Tarlochan Singh, former MP and former Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, for his contribution to inclusive governance and public life, to renowned classical vocalist Smt Haimanti Sukla for her unparalleled contribution to Indian music and cultural heritage, and to former Indian football captain and goalkeeper Bhaskar Ganguly for his enduring legacy and leadership in Indian football. The ceremony was graced by senior leadership of the JIS Group, reflecting the institution’s commitment to celebrating excellence beyond boundaries, while the evening concluded with a captivating live performance by celebrated Sufi band Bolly Sufi, adding cultural vibrance to the occasion.
